Affordable insurance has become increasingly popular these days because of the poor economy. Many people who want to drive a car but have poor credit can't afford the high rates. This is a double whammy for the person who's trying to get an insurance rate. The other option is to try a traditional company for a good rate, but the companies will often raise rates dramatically if you have a less than perfect driving record.
I was in the market for affordable insurance before I moved to Worcester. I needed to get a policy, but I didn't want to buy an expensive one. I wanted an insurance policy that was reasonable and would fit within my monthly budget.
I was looking around and saw that I couldn't find a cheap car insurance in Worcester. I went over to my local insurance agent and explained what I was looking for, and he said that I probably wasn't going to be able to find a cheaper rate anywhere else in the state.
After I explained that to him he told me that there were companies out there that could give me a cheap quote, but I needed to put a very high deductible on my policy. I told him I didn't need to do that and he said that I would have to ask my agent about that later.
We talked for about half an hour more and then he came back with a quote that was not so much lower than my last agent. He then offered me a quote for an insurance policy from one of the larger companies and a policy with a slightly higher deductible. At why are mazdas so expensive to insure thought that maybe he was just trying to sell me something and walked away.
But then he asked me if I would be interested in calling an agent and talking to one of the agents to see how they could help me find a cheaper quote. I said sure, and we talked for another half an hour.
When we got to the agent I asked her what she recommended, and she asked if I would like a brochure to send to her so that she could show me. After looking at the booklet she told me that she would call the agent and they would get it to me. She also told me that the first person she called probably wasn't an agent so that I wouldn't have to pay that much.
The next morning I called the same agent that she mentioned. We spoke for thirty minutes before I left.
When I finished talking with her, I asked her if she could call the other agent and tell her that I would be happy to do a comparison for her. She said that she would ask the other agent to call me right back and send me a quote. So I went home and called that other agent.
She called me back a few minutes later and gave me a quote. She asked me if I could send her a copy of my credit report, so that she could look over it and tell me what information was on it and that companies had been reporting it to the credit bureaus.
I was surprised at that, because she told me that I probably hadn't told her what type of car I drove. She told me that I would have to get a certain number of miles on my car and that the quote would depend on how much my car was worth.
